Ned A. Bauer, 66

Ned A. Bauer, 66, of Pioneer passed away Friday morning in Sebring, Florida. He was born August 21, 1951 in Bryan, Ohio to Russell E. and Edna M. (Buff) Bauer. Ned graduated from Montpelier High School in 1969. He married Anna L. McMillen on December 1, 1973 in Montpelier, Ohio and she survives.

From 1974-1995 Ned owned and operated Ace Citgo in Montpelier, where he also did car repair and mechanic work. From 1996-present he owned and operated Jim’s Carry Out in Pioneer. Ned enjoyed golfing, driving his classic cars, collecting cast iron antique banks and fishing. He was a member of the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Anna of Pioneer; children, Ben (Misty) Bauer of Lake Worth, Florida, Andy Bauer of Pioneer, and Nathan (Rachele) Bauer of Onsted, Michigan; three grandchildren, Tyler, Halle and Gavin; two brothers Russell (Ann) Bauer of Cicero, Indiana, Kenneth (Betty) Bauer of Montpelier, and Marsha (Ken) Bender of Morenci, Michigan.

Ned was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gail and Lee Bauer, and sister Patricia Cronk.

Visitation for Ned will be Thursday, December 28th from 3-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Gene McBride to officiate. Interment will follow at Buffalo Cemetery in Edon. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital or Pioneer Church of the Nazarene.
