The man who led authorities on a high-speed chase on New Year’s Eve, following a six-day crime spree was indicted Wednesday on additional charges. Jade Herzog had slipped away while on medical leave from the Hillsdale County Jail, where he had been held for methamphetamine possession in November. Herzog then went on a crime spree that spanned five counties in three states with at least four vehicle thefts, a home invasion and assaults on several law enforcement officers…by using stolen cars to ram police cruisers during two separate high-speed pursuits. If convicted on the new charges, he could be sentenced to an additional three years behind bars.
