New jobs for Defiance.

Ohio Gov. DeWine approves major three economic projects within the state, and one of them is expected to bring 180 jobs to Defiance. MetalX, a recycling plant, based in Fort Wayne, will bring a new plant, called MMX, to Defiance that is anticipated to generate $14.4 million dollars in new annual payroll to the area along with the new jobs. The facility will serve as an aluminum recycling and rolling slab plant. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a nine-year, 1.9% “Job Creation Tax Credit” for the project. MetalX first teased the project back in April 2023. The company expects the plant to be fully operational by the first half of 2026. The other two Ohio projects will bring a combined 115 jobs to Franklin and Wayne counties, too.
