NEW PRINCIPAL AT WAUSEON ELEMENTARY

The Wauseon Ele­men­tary School has a new prinic­pal.

Theresa Viet­meier, for­merly a Wauseon Ele­men­tary School music teacher, was cho­sen Mon­day night by the Wauseon Exempted Vil­lage Board of Edu­ca­tion as the building’s new prin­ci­pal.

Viet­meier begins her new job effec­tive Aug. 1, replac­ing David Burk­holder, who resigned.

Viet­meier received her bachelor’s degree in music edu­ca­tion from Ohio State Uni­ver­sity, and a master’s degree from the Uni­ver­sity of Toledo.

She has also com­pleted post-graduate work beyond the master’s level at the Uni­ver­sity of Find­lay and com­pleted the prin­ci­pal cer­tifi­cate pro­gram in 2013.

Viet­meier began teach­ing music at Wauseon Ele­men­tary in 1998.

Prior to her career in Wauseon, Viet­meier was a band and choir direc­tor in Lorain, Ohio.
