The Wauseon Elementary School has a new prinicpal.
Theresa Vietmeier, formerly a Wauseon Elementary School music teacher, was chosen Monday night by the Wauseon Exempted Village Board of Education as the building’s new principal.
Vietmeier begins her new job effective Aug. 1, replacing David Burkholder, who resigned.
Vietmeier received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Ohio State University, and a master’s degree from the University of Toledo.
She has also completed post-graduate work beyond the master’s level at the University of Findlay and completed the principal certificate program in 2013.
Vietmeier began teaching music at Wauseon Elementary in 1998.
Prior to her career in Wauseon, Vietmeier was a band and choir director in Lorain, Ohio.
