Change is getting closer as a new tolling system on the Ohio Turnpike will result in a new toll plaza in Williams County and a limited area of toll-free access. According to the Bryan Times, Jeff Landel, superintendent of the Western Division of the Ohio Turnpike, said recently a new toll plaza was built over the last few years at the 4 mile marker and is ready to open. “As soon as we get the toll collection system up and going live, we’ll go right into the removal of the old Westgate at the 2.8 (mile marker),” Landel said. A press release from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission stated the new system will be phased in gradually over the next week and a half.
