The Cor­rec­tions Cen­ter of North­west Ohio received high praise dur­ing recent inspec­tions.

The Cor­rec­tions Com­mis­sion of North­west Ohio met Wednes­day, when they approved a 2014 oper­at­ing bud­get as well as enhance­ments to the facil­ity.

CCNO recently had a state jail inspec­tion, in which the inspec­tor inter­acted with both staff and inmates.

The clean­li­ness of the facil­ity, along with the fact that it has been well main­tained for 23 years, was noted.

CCNO met all state stan­dards, and will receive for­mal noti­fi­ca­tion in the next four to six weeks of the results.

A group of cor­rec­tions offi­cers from Ontario, Canada, toured CCNO on Oct. 8th, and the Cana­dian staff had high praise for the clean­li­ness of the facil­ity; amount of pro­fes­sional inter­ac­tion between CCNO staff and inmates; work sys­tem used to sup­port bet­ter inmate behav­ior; as well as reduced inmate movement.
