The cause of that big fire at MetalX in Delta on Sept. 16 may never be known, but it doesn’t appear to be foul play. Delta Fire Chief, Scott Smith says the origin of the blaze is accidental but undetermined in nature. The ruling is due to the amount of damage and the volume of material firefighters had to move around the location in order to extinguish the fire. Approximately 9 million gallons of water was pumped onto the flames. Officials say no harmful chemicals were released into the air during the blaze.
