Norma Jean McCann, 92, of Defiance, Ohio and former longtime resident of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Trustwell Living at Kingsbury Place, Defiance, Ohio surrounded by her family. Norma Jean was born January 6, 1933, in Bucyrus, Ohio, daughter of the late Orlan and Lola (Rodabaugh) Lobdell. She was a 1951 graduate of Hicksville High School. Norma Jean married Mike McCann on October 19, 1952, in Hicksville, Ohio and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage until Mike’s passing on March 18, 2023. Norma Jean held administrative and finance positions at Larson Auto, Bud Laub Chevrolet, Jim Schmidt Chevrolet and API Financial until her retirement in 1996. She was an active member of First Church of Christ, Hicksville. Norma Jean treasured spending time with her family and especially cherished time with her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, sewing and vegetable gardening.

Surviving are her two children, Dean (Cheryl) McCann of Naples, Florida, and Danett Caryer of Defiance, Ohio; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Iola (Michael) Singer of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Mike McCann; son, David McCann; brother, Glenn Lobdell; great-grandson, Isaiah Knapp.

Visitation for Norma will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with John Battershell officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
