It’s going to be a longer school day for students at North Central schools.
That’s because the board of education on Monday, approved a plan to add a half-hour to the school day, beginning on Monday and continuing through March 27th.
Adding thirty minutes to each school day, will end up with a total of about two extra days, and will provide the district with three days banked “just in case”, after adding up all the missed time this year due to snow.
If the required amount of hours or days are not completed in any given school year, public schools face the loss of state and federal funding.
