The North Central Board of Education on Tuesday, voted to approve a transfer of $300,000 from the permanent improvement fund to the locally-funded initiative portion of the cost of some new construction. The board also approved a payment of $1,480,164.07 to the classroom facilities fund. The Bryan Times reports that groundbreaking for the new school is now set for June 2nd, and the tentative move in date is set for the beginning of the 2016–17 school year. A meeting with the architect and construction manager is set for next Wednesday, when the budget is expected to be finalized.
