Officers Complete Training

Thirty-one police officers and sheriff’s deputies from northwest Ohio recently completed an advanced emergency-vehicle driving course at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington.

State casino revenue dedicated to law enforcement training pays for the program. Individual communities were required to pay their officers’ expenses before the casino funding became available.

The latest area officers to complete the class include Rashuan Armey and Mark Janowiecki of the Defiance Police Department; and Charles Roub and Keith Swisher of the Sherwood Police Department.
