Officials: Putnam Man Died Of Drowning

A Put­nam County man is dead, and author­i­ties now say he drowned.

The Put­nam County coro­ner con­firmed on Mon­day, that the cause of 59 year old Don­ald Burgei’s death was drown­ing.

Burgei, of Ottoville, was swim­ming at a pond at this home on Put­nam County Road P in Mon­terey Town­ship, when he went miss­ing. His body was pulled from the pond shortly before mid­night on Sun­day, June 22nd after a 911 call came in report­ing him miss­ing just after 10:30 that evening.
