Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik announced Monday 17 economic development projects across the state have been approved, a move expected to create 2,347 new jobs and retain 8,592 existing positions. Among the approved projects is an expansion by Wieland Chase LLC, operating as Chase Brass & Copper, in Holiday City. According to the release, the Williams County project is expected to create 43 full-time-equivalent jobs and generate approximately $3.1 million in new annual payroll. Chase Brass & Copper manufactures brass rods and operates a brass forging facility. The company was acquired by Wieland Corp. in 2019, expanding its capabilities to include ammunition production.
