Applications for admission to Ohio University have topped 20,000 for the first time in the school’s 209-year history.
Freshman applications for the main campus are reportedly running more than 3,000 ahead of last year’s pace, and some 7,000 ahead of 2011.
School officials there say the growth comes from increases in both in-state and out-of-state students, and also among international students.
Only about 4,000 students will be accepted for the next freshman class.
