Edon Northwest Local Schools District Superintendent Anthony Stevens recommended to the School Board Transportation Committee that the district work with an architecture firm to complete a grant-funded project that will redesign the main entrance of Edon High School. Edon received $200,000 dollars in the fifth round of Ohio’s K-12 School Safety Grant Program. Stevens said the project will eliminate confusion and make the building safer because the door would open directly into the main office as opposed to the main lobby. Edon was made aware that they had been awarded the grant on April 27 and the money has to be awarded to a contractor by December…while all funds must be expended by September, 2024.
