Online Sex Cases…Here Locally

Two people…believed to be from Williams County are accused by online activists in separate incidents, involving online child solicitation. One of the two was arrested Thursday morning by the West Terre Haute Police Department. On Nov. 27, the online activist group PCI: Predator Catchers Indianapolis posted video, apparently showing former Edon resident, David Dowdy, 42, attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl in Terre Haute…after PCI said he propositioned her online. The girl?…is actually an adult decoy, with a hidden camera and her own support team from PCI. Then…On Nov. 20…another group, called Bikers Against Predators, based in Goshen, posted images of a person…they identified as a Bryan resident. Adding…that person was communicating online with their own adult decoy, posing as a 14-year-old girl. That group forwarded its findings to the Williams County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say the second suspect does not live in Bryan, right now. The case continues.
