In Paulding County, there’s a new Drug Court, set up to help lower-level, nonviolent felony offenders with drug or alcohol issues. The first court was in late October, and its goal, said Judge Tiffany Beckman, is for participants to defeat their addiction and become contributing members of society. The three phase program focuses on keeping participants clean with daily drug testing, then support meetings and finally helping them obtain employment.
