Paulding Power Line Snagged

Power was out for more than 8 hours Tuesday in downtown Paulding after a semi got caught on a power line. Paulding Police say it happened Tuesday, just afternoon, when Tim Freeman, the truck driver, was trying to find his way out of town, when his trailer caught the low hanging lines. Freeman told police, he was listening to his GPS to get through the village, but every route he found said it was a no-truck route. When Freemen finally got frustrated, and turned off of Walnut Street onto West Perry Street, his vehicle got caught on the lines. The accident knocked out power to a 10-square block area in downtown Paulding. All the traffic lights also were out. Power was restored at approximately 8:30 p.m. Freeman was cited for not following the detour route.
