Pauline “Polly” Ann Racy, 81 years, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Laurels of DeKalb, Butler, Indiana. Polly was born on June 19, 1934 in Hamilton, Indiana, daughter of the late Clyde A. and Reba L. (Helms) Rohleder. She was a 1952 graduate of Hamilton High School and continued her education at the college level. Polly worked within her home but also worked as a waitress for several area restaurants, including the Mixing Bowl in Hamilton. She is a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, PSI RHO Sorority and the Hamilton Fish and Game Club. Polly was known to have a beautiful singing voice. She always volunteered her time to help others no matter what the task. She had the gift of “never knowing a stranger” and made other feel welcome and accepted with ease. She also found great joy in reading.
Surviving are her two sons, Brett Racy of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Scott Racy of Lighthouse Point, Florida; five grandchildren, Alex Racy, Emily Racy, James Racy, Ryan Racy, and Brandon Racy; one sister, Pat (MacLynn) Oberlin of Hamilton, Indiana. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Nila Racy.
Private services were held on behalf of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, Indiana
