Pedestrian Killed in Lucas County

The Ohio State High­way Patrol is inves­ti­gat­ing a fatal crash involv­ing a vehi­cle and a pedes­trian.

It hap­pened Sun­day morn­ing just after 5 in Lucas County.

43 year old Tommy Rogers of Syl­va­nia, was walk­ing on the north side of U.S. 20 when he was struck by a vehi­cle dri­ven by 27 year old Thomas Gar­cia, of Hol­land, Ohio. Rogers was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

A pas­sen­ger in Garcia’s vehi­cle, 25 year old Amanda King, also of Hol­land, was injured.

Gar­cia fled the scene but was later found. Inves­ti­ga­tors are try­ing to deter­mine if Gar­cia was impaired at the time of the collision.
