Peppler Gets Virtual Life Sentence

An Angola man is headed to prison for decades following his sentencing Tuesday in Steuben Superior Court. 49-year-old Jeffrey Peppler was sentenced to 60 years behind bars, for stabbing his 52-year-old sister Paige to death on January 3rd. The 60 year sentence was the maximum allowed under terms of a plea agreement that was reached in the case last month. It means that Peppler will likely spend the rest of his life in prison, as the 60 year sentence means that he would be 99 years old if he lived long enough to be released. The sentence was handed down after Peppler entered a guilty plea to the murder charge, in which an attempted murder charge for the stabbing of his mother was dismissed.
