A Pettisville High School choir teacher whose retirement was accepted last week by the district’s board of education stepped down due to “inappropriate communications,” according to a statement issued by the school. Duane Beck’s retirement was the subject of a special board meeting on Nov. 5th, and was accepted. The statement explained that the district board of education’s administration received a complaint from a student regarding a teacher. The complaint concerned a lack of professional boundaries between the teacher and students. The board thoroughly investigated the matter and reported the complaint to local law enforcement.
