Philip L. Siebenaler, 80

Philip L. Siebenaler, 80 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020, in his residence with his family at his side.  Phil fought a courageous battle with cancer.  Phil was born September 6, 1939, in Blakeslee, Ohio, the son of the late Vincent and Arlene (Krutsch) Siebenaler.  He was a 1957 graduate of Edon High School.  Phil enlisted in the United States Army and served faithfully until his honorable discharge in 1963.  He married Christine E. Frisch on September 18, 1959, and she survives.  He was a Tool & Die Maker for 30 years, working most recently for Powers & Sons in Montpelier.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, where he served as a Lay Distributor, Christopher, Lector and Usher.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1915 as well as the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233.  A big Ohio State Buckeye fan, Phil was also a big Cleveland Indians fan.  He was an avid bowler.  Phil loved to be involved with the lives of his family, following his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their academic and athletic activities.  He was their biggest fan.

Surviving is his wife, Christine of Bryan; four children, Sylvia Parker of Bryan, Michele (Greg) Hall of Bryan, Randy Siebenaler of Mulberry, Florida and Jeffery (Nemia) Siebenaler of Jamestown, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Parker, Jessica (Dane) Sapp, Jacob (Natalie) Parker, Jason (Katie) Hall, Sara (Glen) Borck, Jennifer (Allissa Cardenas) Hall, Christopher (Melissa) Siebenaler, Justin (Ashley) Siebenaler and Natasha Siebenaler; 12 great-grandchildren, Griffin, Quinn, Riley, Cameron, Emma, Maddox, Noah, Mason, Matthew, Myles, Sienna and Avery; four sisters, Jan Heusdens, Linda (Steve) Smith, Kathryn (Tom) Darr and Joyce (Tom) Gibbons.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Joshua Siebenaler.

Visitation for Philip L. Siebenaler will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – LYNN STREET CHAPEL, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.  Funeral Mass for Phil will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan with Father Jim Halleron officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakeslee, with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Bryan American Legion Post 284 and Bryan VFW Post 2489.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
