An estimated $2 million street construction project in Pioneer is drawing a lot of interest from local construction companies. The Bryan Times reports a bid opening in county commissioners’ offices Thursday included 10 bids for the project, ranging from $1.95 million to $2.24 million. The estimated project cost was 2.05 million dollars. The project includes extending Clark Street in Pioneer about 0.75 miles north, then about half a mile west, to hook in with Core Way Drive, and extending Industrial Drive east to the entrance to the industrial park. The work includes new curbs and gutters and all other necessary street infrastructure.
