PIONEER WATER TANK COMING DOWN

Pioneer Council, at their meeting Tuesday night, approved demolition of the old water tower.

Council members said to have the old tower painted and sealed would cost more than demolition.

The Bryan Times reports that council approved Rural Water Services Storage LLC of Camden, Ohio to demolish the tank at a cost of $19,000. Other bids received were from Gateway Tank, Inc. of Avon for $22,500 and Kessler Tank of Fremont at $27,000.

A professional photographer will be hired to take pictures of the old tank before it’s gone forever.
