A Paulding County Sheriff’s police dog got a little overzealous in his work. Officials say the police were dispatched to a Williams Street gas station for a knife fight. One involved in the fight, Marquis Goings of Latty, tried to get away in his car. He was pulled over a few blocks away. Goings came out of the car looking ready to fight. Officers put him on the ground and let the police dog of the chain. The dog bit Goings in the leg, stopping him…but the dog also bit one of the officers. Both were taken to an area hospital. Both will be okay. Goings faces charges as the investigation into the incident continues.
