Police Raise Considered

Stryker Police Chief, Steven Schlosser wants the Village Council to give the police force a raise. Schlosser told the panel this week he recently tried to recruit a new police academy graduate, but was turned down due to the low pay rates at Stryker. He suggested officers should earn $14 to $16 per hour and supervisors $15.50 to $17 per hour. The finance committee will meet July 31 to further discuss that.
