Police ticket and arrest quotas are being officially outlawed in Ohio next week. Governor Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 114 into law on July first. It takes effect on September 30th. The Ohio FOP backed the legislation, saying quotas put unnecessary stress on officers and take focus away from public safety. The law also established an anonymous reporting system that officers can use if an agency is in violation of the rules.
