Power Outages Across Region

After heavy rain and ice moved across northeast Indiana Wednesday, electric companies report…numerous outages totaling in the thousands. Indiana Michigan Power says almost 2,300 customers in the area around Hamilton were without electricity. I&M tells reporters…a substation went down in the area…crews are working on the fix at this hour. Steuben REMC had almost 1,800 customers in the dark, with more than a third of those outages, around Angola. NIPSCO also reported thousands of outages within its coverage area, including almost 2,300 customers without power around Angola, just under 2,200 customers without power around Fremont and just over 500 affected customers in Ashley. Officials stress…crews are at work throughout the region…getting the lights back on.
