PUCO approves AEP Ohio’s investment plan.

Last week, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved AEP Ohio’s plan to invest in distribution automation grid technology designed to improve the reliability of electric service for customers across the state. The technology automatically reroutes power, shortening and sometimes preventing power outages that customers would otherwise experience. AEP Ohio plans to invest $350.7 million in the upgrades, at a cost of about 22 additional cents per month each year for a typical AEP Ohio residential customer.
