Raises Voted In Defiance

Defiance City Council met on Tuesday night, and among the items on the table, were potential raises for non-union city employees.

The Crescent News reports that an emergency ordinance approved by council, will give the city’s non-union employees, which does not include elected officials, a 1.5 percent raise in pay this year.

The increase is in line with raises given to employees of the city’s three unions.

The legislation will become law upon the mayor’s signature.
