Relay for Life of Williams County will be held Friday and Saturday

Relay for Life of Williams County will be held Friday and Saturday at the Williams County Fairgrounds in Montpelier. This year’s theme is Heroes of Hope, with many superhero events planned. This year’s goal is to raise $220,000. Last year’s Relay for Life of Williams County raised more than $238,000 and was recognized as the being in the top two Relays for per capita income for a population of 35,000-39,000 at the National Relay For Life Awards. Opening ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. Immediately after, there will be a survivors lap followed by the caregivers lap. There also will be a medical professionals lap. To help teams wake up Saturday morning, there will be a Zumba demonstration at 9 a.m. Closing ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. with the relay ending at noon Saturday.
