Remains Found In Steuben County

Indi­ana Con­ser­va­tion Offi­cers, along with offi­cers from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Depart­ment and the Steuben County Coro­ner are inves­ti­gat­ing human skele­tal remains found at Hamil­ton Lake in Steuben County.

A per­son walk­ing near the lake dis­cov­ered the remains Sat­ur­day evening near the shore­line. On Sun­day, scuba divers from the Indi­ana Con­ser­va­tion Offi­cers, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Dept con­ducted an exten­sive under­wa­ter search of the area and found other pos­si­ble human skele­ton.

Offi­cials say the inves­ti­ga­tion shows so far, that the remains may be arche­o­log­i­cal in nature. Con­fir­ma­tion of that is expected to come fol­low­ing exam­i­na­tion by foren­sic experts in Indianapolis.
