Residents are being warned about a phone scam targeting people in Lucas County by falsely claiming ties to the court system. According to Judge Jack Puffenberger’s office, reports have surfaced of callers posing as representatives of a so-called “Criminal Processing Division” of the Lucas County Probate Court. In the scam, callers are telling victims they have an active warrant for failing to appear in Judge Puffenberger’s court and are asking for payment to “clear” the warrant.
