Richard Pontious, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:25 P.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, after an extended illness. Mr. Pontious attended Wauseon High School and worked in construction. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with friends and will be remembered as a jokester.
Richard Pontious was born on August 21, 1949, in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of Kenneth. and Esther (Schamp) Pontious. Dick is survived by three sons, Byron (Lynda) Pontious, of Dover, Ohio, Jason Pontious, of Sulphur, Oklahoma and Ryan Pontious, of Wauseon; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sisters, Betty Hall and Mary Crook, both of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Pontious, and his twin brother, Robert Pontious.
A memorial service celebrating Dick’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Visitation will held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Wauseon Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
