Roberta Ann Slight, 84

Roberta Ann Slight, 84, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. Roberta was born May 22, 1938, in Defiance, Ohio, daughter of the late Alva and Marie (Hasch) Bergman. She attended Mark Center High School. Roberta married James J. Slight on May 22, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nevada and he survives. She worked at Weatherhead-Dana Corp. for over 30 years. Roberta was a member of First Church of Christ Hicksville and Hicksville Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2556. She also enjoyed visiting with others at the Hicksville Defiance County Senior Center. In her free time, Roberta enjoyed playing cards completing jigsaw puzzles, and attending Fort Wayne Comet Hockey Games. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Jim.

Surviving is her husband, Jim Slight of Hicksville, Ohio; four children, Debra Keller, Dawn Yaichner, Edward Garman all of Hicksville, Ohio, and Tonya (Billy) Woods of Surprise, Arizona; son-in-law, Jim Yaichner , three step children, Mark Slight, Pam (Jim) Helms, and Scott Slight all of Hicksville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Diann) Bergman, Gary Bergman and Fred (Rita) Bergman; two sisters-in-law, Diana Bergman and Artie Bergman; many nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Robert Keller; two stepsons, Greg Shadrach and Tim Slight; three brothers, Gene Bergman, Paul “Mike” Berman, and Carroll Bergman; three sisters-in-law, Dolena Bergman, Leona Bergman, and Mary Bergman.

Visitation for Roberta will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street Hicksville, with a memorial service celebrating her life beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with Celebrant, Patricia Peter officiating. Private interment will take place in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp, Ohio.
