Rosann Friend, 90

Rosann Friend, 90 years, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Northern Lakes Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. Rosann was born February 17, 1928 in Pleasant Lake, Indiana the daughter of the late Bert and Pauline (Ling) Swihart. She was a 1947 graduate of Pleasant Lake High School. She married Richard W. Friend on December 22, 1947 in Auburn, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2012. Rosann was a cook at Elmhurst Hospital for a short period of time. She was a devoted wife and mother, with a passion to provide and care for her family. She was a former member of the Hamilton Garden Club and the Happy Homemakers Club. Rosann loved to be outdoors and tend to her flower garden and tend to her lawn, spending hours caring for it. She also loved to collect antiques and research her genealogy. Rosann loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, daughter, Linda Bireley and her companion Kevin Bireley, of Hamilton; two sons, Jim (Anna) Friend of Garrett, Indiana and Tom (Julie) Friend of Pleasant Lake, daughter-in-law, Jackie Friend of Hamilton; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard W. Friend, one son, Steve Friend and ten siblings.

Graveside services for Roseann Friend will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 in Hamilton Cemetery. There will not be any calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, Indiana.
