Ruth Herman, 78

Ruth M. Herman, age 78, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:15 P.M. on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare in Bryan, Ohio, where she was a patient, after an extended illness. Mrs. Herman was a 1953 graduate of Hicksville High School and was a devoted farm wife to her husband, Donald, for more than fifty years. She was an Avon sales representative for thirty-seven years and formerly drove school bus for the Bryan City Schools. Her memberships included St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society and she was a longtime volunteer with the Church Women United Thrift Shop in Bryan and the Edgerton Senior Center.

Ruth M. Herman was born on April 4, 1935, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph R. and Lillian M. (Kozumplik) Adams. She married Donald J. Herman on March 2, 1957, in Hicksville and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Ken (Colleen) Herman and Tony (Jennifer) Herman, both of Edgerton; three daughters, Cindy Herman, of Edgerton, Kathy (Doug) Soards and Donna (Bill) Martin, both of Bryan; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six brothers, John (Mary Ann) Adams, of Columbus, Ohio, Ben (Judy) Adams, of Sarasota, Florida, Vic (Linda) Adams, of Hicksville, Paul (Marilyn) Adams, of Antwerp, Ohio, Carl (Kathie) Adams, of Nokomis, Florida, and Joe (Connie) Adams, of Hicksville, and two sisters, Helen (Joe) Keane, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, and Mary Ann (Bill) Brinegar, of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, Gerard Herman, a daughter, Gerilynn Blakely, one brother, Dick Adams, and two sisters, Luddy Keating and Paula Ann Adams.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home. Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Father Jeff Walker officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
