Samuel “Sam” H. Wright, 86

Samuel “Sam” H. Wright, 86, of Pioneer and formerly of Toledo passed away December 10th at his home on “the farm” in Pioneer Ohio. He was born March 9, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to Howard S. and Tedia Mai (Killingsworth) Wright.

Sam retired from Campbell’s Soup in Napoleon in 1993 where he was a Stationary Engineer. He worked at the Buckeye Brewery in Toledo as well as the Gulf Oil Refinery in Toledo. Sam enjoyed spending time on his property in Pioneer with his grandson Joe and family, fishing, and watching Ohio State football games.

He is survived by three sons, Michael (Beverly) Wright of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Ryan D. Wright of Battle Creek, Michigan and Chris A. Wright of Temperance, Michigan; grandchildren Michelle, Kelly, Michael, Joe, and Nick, as well as four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters Joyce Douglas of Toledo and Joanne Coakley of Toledo.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Wayne, Nick, Jerry and Jim, one sister Jean, grandson Bradley Wright, and the mother of his three sons, Virginia Wright.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
