Sandra K. Finch, 73

Sandra K. Finch, 73 years, of West Unity, passed away early Sunday morning, February 7, 2016 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. Sandy was born July 28, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Margaret A. (Short) Klopfenstein. She married Burton L. Finch on September 12, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2012. Sandy worked as a press operator for Montpelier Plastics retiring in 2011. Prior to this she had worked at Superior Carbon for 23 years. She was a member of the Statue of Liberty Club as well as the Garden Club in West Unity. Sandy had a wide range of interest, including going to garage sales, working in her yard, collecting Statue of Liberty memorabilia, working crossword puzzles and baking Christmas goodies. She also grew orchids and other plants and even crocheted. Sandy had a Statue of Liberty replica statue in her back yard.

Surviving is her son, Burton (JoAnne) Finch, Jr. of Waterville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bailey Finch and Burton Finch, III both of Waterville; one cousin, Linda (Ken) Zuver of West Unity; two sister-in-laws, Myrna (Doyle) Wines of Bryan, and Mae Finch of West Unity; one brother-in-law, William Stine of West Unity, and special friends, Teresa (Terry) Burnham of West Unity. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Burton; two sons, Leonard Gerald Finch and Jeffery Alan Finch; one brother, Keith Klopfenstein.

Visitation for Sandra K. Finch will be held Friday, February 12, 2016, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity with graveside funeral services at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2016 in Floral Grove Cemetery, County Road K, West Unity with Pastor Fred Brandon officiating.
