Sauder Sets Naturalization Ceremony

Dur­ing a spe­cial Nat­u­ral­iza­tion Cer­e­mony at Sauder Vil­lage on July 4, guests will have the oppor­tu­nity to cel­e­brate as 47 peo­ple become new U.S. cit­i­zens.

The U.S. Dis­trict Court Nat­u­ral­iza­tion Cer­e­mony will be held on Fri­day, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. on the Vil­lage Green, weather per­mit­ting. Forty-seven peo­ple from 29 coun­tries will take the oath of Amer­i­can cit­i­zen­ship dur­ing this spe­cial cer­e­mony at Sauder Vil­lage. The Nat­u­ral­iza­tion Cer­e­mony will include spe­cial music, the col­ors car­ried by the Ful­ton County Honor Guard and spe­cial remarks by guest speak­ers.

Many other spe­cial activ­i­ties are planned for the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Event at Sauder Vil­lage. Guests will have an oppor­tu­nity to dress up like Abra­ham Lin­coln and read the Get­tys­burg Address in the Museum Build­ing.

Patri­otic songs will be played on the reed organ in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and guests will be encour­aged to join in.

A Fourth of July Brunch will be served on Fri­day from 10:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.

His­toric Vil­lage hours for the Inde­pen­dence Day Week­end are from Fri­day & Sat­ur­day 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sun­day from noon — 4:00 p.m. Admis­sion is $16.00 for adults and $10.00 for stu­dents ages 6–16. Chil­dren 5 and under are free. For more infor­ma­tion visit www.saudervillage.org
