Defiance Elementary students are receiving an Ohio Department of Education grant.
The ODE has notified the Defiance City School District, that it received a $600,000 21st Century Grant for before and afterschool grade K-5 educational programs. The funds will be used for staff, supplies, technology and transportation expenses, at the rate of $200,000 a year for three years.
The programs will get underway next month.
