A boating accident leaves several injured on Lake Gage in Steuben County, Saturday. The victims were taken to shore by local citizens’ boats, so EMS and fire units could tend to their injuries. Two occupants were flown to Parkview for a skull fracture and a partial lower arm amputation. Others with less serious injuries were transported to Cameron Memorial Hospital in Angola. The boat involved in the accident was still under power and unmanned, circling the lake at approximately 30 miles per hour, when crews arrived. Investigators say the driver, who was drunk, took a turn too fast in the vessel and threw all of the passengers into the water.
