SHERIFF’S SHORTFALL PREDICTED

Accord­ing to the Bryan Times, the Williams County Sheriff’s Office could be over bud­get by the end of the year.

Williams County Com­mis­sion­ers addressed their con­cerns in an open let­ter to the Sher­iff on Mon­day.

That let­ter said that based on a review con­ducted July 31st, nine bud­getary line items indi­cate a prob­a­ble short­fall by years end. Those nine line items are:

• Admin­is­tra­tive salaries

• Medicare con­tri­bu­tions

• Pur­chases for the canine patrol

• Fin­ger­print­ing

• Non-capital equip­ment pur­chases

• Unspec­i­fied mis­cel­la­neous expenses

• Sem­i­nars and train­ing

• Uni­forms and uni­form clean­ing costs

• Overtime
