Shirley E. Hane, 80 years, of Bryan, and a former lifelong resident of Ney, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her home. Shirley was born March 22, 1936 in Continental, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Lila (Troyer) Ford. She was a 1954 graduate of Camden-Frontier High School. She married James R. Hane on July 4, 1959 in Montgomery, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2016. Shirley worked for Vistron for 17 years, retiring in 1977. She was also the co-owner of Hane’s Fashions in Bryan and Hane’s Fashions and Footwear in Defiance. She was a member of Sonrise Community Church, Ney, Ohio. Shirley enjoyed completing puzzles, playing computer games and collecting porcelain dolls and antiques.
Surviving are her two daughters, Teresa Hane of Irving, Texas and Angela Zach of Bryan; two grandsons, Joshua Blanton of Flint, Michigan and Jacob Blanton of Bryan; three great-grandchildren, Kaidi Blanton, Maycee Blanton and Parker Blanton; two sisters, Naomi (Frank) Price of Montgomery, Michigan and Martha (Jim) Crow of Camden, Michigan; one brother, Dick (Carolyn) Ford of Camden, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one daughter, Maria Hane; one brother, Harl Ford and two sisters, Carolyn Slusser and June Warren.
Visitation for Shirley E. Hane will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan, where Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, with her nephew, Gary Doeden officiating. Graveside service will follow in Evansport Cemetery, Evansport, Ohio.
