SK Site May Be Sold

A com­pany that deals with aban­doned fac­tory sites has expressed inter­est in acquir­ing the for­mer SK Hand Tools prop­erty at Defi­ance.

Accord­ing to the Cres­cent News, now Defi­ance County Com­mis­sion­ers need to fig­ure out how the more than $100,000 in unpaid prop­erty taxes due on that prop­erty will be han­dled, and who the legal owner really is.

Defi­ance County com­mis­sion­ers have already met with one of the for­mer own­ers of SK, who along with his busi­ness part­ner declared bank­ruptcy in 2010.

The unpaid bill on prop­erty taxes for the six parcels involved, amount to $146,494.31.
