Pioneer Mayor Ed Kidston brings three proposals from different solar power companies in front of the village council to potentially bring a solar field to Pioneer. Council unanimously voted to go forward with a letter of intent to apply for government funding through the Powering Affordable Clean Energy Program…and the Empowering Rural America Program. Both are under the USDA. By signing a letter of intent, Kidston says this is not a hard commitment and the village can back out at any time after doing more research and due diligence. The exact proposals were not released as public record because a plan was not voted on.
