Sommers Case Goes To Sentencing

A former competitive cheer team coach pleads guilty to sex offenses involving two children. Ryder Sommers of Fayette, was in Williams County Court. He was a former coach with the Montpelier-based Northwest Ohio Elite Athletics cheer team and Head Over Heels Gymnastics Academy in Bryan. The victims were athletes under the authority Sommers as their cheer coach at Northwest Ohio Elite, when the incidents occurred. There were two victims, ages 16 or younger. Sommers was 20 years old at the time the crimes were committed in 2016. Sentencing for Sommers is set for Aug. 24.
