South Bend man sentenced to prison in Defiance County Common Pleas Court

A South Bend man who led lawmen on a pursuit in January was sentenced to prison in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. 26 year Zavion Bailey of South Bend, Ind., was given a 42-month term on charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, tampering with evidence, and trafficking in heroin, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. He also received a six-year operator’s license suspension. The 42-month sentence was ordered to be served consecutive to a term reimposed on previous convictions for failure to appear as required by recognizance and menacing by stalking. The total prison term is 59 months.
