Steuben Man Pleads Guilty To Rape

A guilty plea Mon­day in Steuben County Court by a man in response to a charge of rape. 54-year-old Frank Stetler can now expect to spend fif­teen years behind bars, if the plea agree­ment reached yes­ter­day is accepted dur­ing a sen­tenc­ing hear­ing on Octo­ber 5th. One of the orig­i­nal charges filed by Steuben County pros­e­cu­tors was a Level 1 felony rape charge, which car­ries a max­i­mum sen­tence of 40 years. Stetler is accused of rap­ing a woman after threat­en­ing her and tying her up. The woman was able to escape and get to Cameron Memo­r­ial Com­mu­nity Hospital’s emer­gency room.
